So many families are holding a loved one’s ashes at home. It happens more than you’d think — and it’s rarely about not caring. Life gets complicated. Distance gets in the way. The right option just never appeared.
Our Steward Program exists for exactly this reason. Whether you’re local but homebound, or you live states away and can’t make the journey, Life Forest is here to help ease the burden of burial while making sure the experience is personal and meaningful.
We are honored to help you.
If you can come to us, we’d love to welcome you. We can schedule a time, help you choose the perfect spot, and plan a ceremony that celebrates your loved one’s final resting place.
If you can’t travel, that’s okay too, there is a USPS program that makes delivery easy (it’s also the only legal way to ship cremated remains). If you’re working with a funeral director, they can handle the arrangement easily. We can also coordinate directly with a crematorium to retrieve your loved one’s remains on your behalf. If you’re going it alone, we’ll send you everything you need — a special USPS shipping kit with prepaid postage, return labels, and simple steps to follow.
Once your loved one is in our care, we take it from there. We’ll keep you informed every step of the way, and when the time comes, we can record the ceremony and burial so you can experience it digitally.
From the first conversation to the final resting place, we stay in close communication — so you always know where things stand.
We get to know you and your family. We want to understand what matters most so we can honor your loved one in a way that feels true to who they were.
If you’re not sure what to do, or where to even start — that’s okay. We’ve helped many families from across the country work through exactly that.
Let’s figure it out together.
