Our Team

Our team

Life Forest is guided by a small, dedicated team brought together by a shared belief in thoughtful burial, environmental responsibility, and the power of community.  Each member of our team brings a distinct background and perspective, united by a commitment to integrity, collaboration, and creating cemetery spaces where people feel welcomed, supported, and connected to one another.

Headshot of Mel Bennett

Mel

Mel Bennett created the concept of Life Forest because she wanted to bury her mother in a place that did not yet exist. Her dream of a space unlike any other, where healing would be found through nature by burying cremated remains under trees, but also having the protective qualities of a traditional cemetery, became a mission within reach thanks to the talents and efforts of the people introduced here.

As the concept designer for this non-profit cemetery approach, and with graduate studies in Leadership and a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Sociology, Mel has always been intrigued by the human condition and how our life experiences, such as pain, illness, belief, community, tradition, and family, can shape us. Mel believes that genuine kindness and respect for others, as well as the situations that have shaped people’s lives, are the starting points for achieving the feeling of fulfillment we all deserve.

Through a deep commitment to listening and responding to the needs of others, he recognizes the importance of creating a space that evokes a sense of peace. His work reflects both a strong work ethic and a personal dedication to reshaping how we visit and remember those we love.

Headshot of Danielle

Danielle

Life Forest was thrilled to welcome Danielle after she stepped away from a long career in the banking industry to raise her family. We deeply value the dedication, commitment, and love it takes to be a stay-at-home parent, and Danielle’s ability to remain calm while raising three sons speaks to her strength and steady presence. With a professional background rooted in member services, Life Forest is a natural fit for her continued passion for being of service to people when they need it most.

Danielle experienced the loss of both her mother and mother-in-law early in life, shaping her desire to support others through grief and healing. She and her husband of nearly 30 years, along with their three sons, are lifelong residents of New Hampshire.

Fate brought Jamie to Life Forest and we appreciate that he is an integral part of the Life Forest team. Jamie is not a stranger to loss. Jamie lost his wife Bobbijo to cancer.
