LEGAL PROTECTIONS

legal protections

protected forest, protected burials

Life Forest ensures that burials are recorded, protected, and preserved for generations to come.

Legally Recognized Cemetery Status

Life Forest® locations are established and operated as legal cemeteries under applicable state law. This means burial rights are formally granted, recorded, and protected in accordance with cemetery regulations.

Families receive a Certificate of Interment Rights that documents the burial location and the rights associated with that memorial. These rights are legally recorded and preserved, providing clarity and accountability now and into the future.

Conservation trail access is preserved, which allows you to connect with nature, as well as the overall peaceful nature of the forest.

Permanent Location Records

Each burial location is documented using exact GPS coordinates. Latitude and longitude coordinates do not change over time, ensuring the memorial can always be accurately located and shared.

Unlike hand-drawn maps or row-and-number systems that may become unclear over decades, GPS documentation connects the memorial to real-world mapping data that remains consistent and verifiable.

We also record Life Forest burials on the Find a Grave website, for those searching for the burial spots of their relatives.

Clarity and Guidance

Our team will guide you through selecting a memorial location and understanding the rights and protections associated with it.
We believe families should have confidence not only in the beauty of the setting, but in the permanence of the record.
